When the late Steve Jobs stepped down from Apple in 2011, many wondered how well his successor, current CEO Tim Cook would be received by Apple employees. Today, that question has been answered in a big way. Tim Cook is waking up in Cupertino this morning as the highest rated CEO in 2012, according to the latest GlassDoor review.

The survey asks employees one simple question: “Do you approve of the way your CEO is leading the company?” Throughout the 2012 measurement period, 280,000 employees from the top worldwide organizations provided input to the survey.

Mr. Cook has an astounding 97% approval rating within Apple, matching Steve Jobs’ August 2011 rating. While Cook had big shoes to fill when he took over the company 7 months ago, it appears Cook was more than willing to stand up to the challenge.

One Apple employee commented that he “[thinks] leadership is doing an amazing job” and that Apple “[has] the best management team anywhere.” Clearly, most of his co-workers who also answered the question agree with the sentiment, and their chief executive has one more award to brag about.
